Position Summary 

The Senior Applications Developer (SAP) is a key member of Enerfab’s in-house SAP team, responsible for designing, developing, and supporting solutions in a modern S/4HANA environment. This role focuses on ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable applications and integrations. The Senior Applications Developer works closely with business users and IT partners to translate requirements into technical solutions, with a strong preference for experience in manufacturing or construction settings. 

Key Responsibilities 

SAP Solution Design & Development 

  • Design, develop, test, and support solutions using ABAP, Object-Oriented ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, and SAP BTP. 

  • Develop and enhance SAP Fiori and UI5 applications to improve usability and adoption. 

  • Create and maintain SAP Data Dictionary objects (tables, views, structures, domains, data elements). 

  • Develop reports using ALV (Classical and OO ALV). 

Integration & Interfaces 

  • Build, consume, and maintain APIs and OData services, including BTP-based integrations. 

  • Develop and support interfaces (IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, OData, REST/SOAP) with internal and external systems. 

  • Support integration across key SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, or similar). 

Testing, Performance & Support 

  • Conduct unit and integration testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect resolution. 

  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis for application and integration issues. 

  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, and production issues in partnership with functional and infrastructure teams. 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Standards 

  • Work directly with end users and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements. 

  • Translate business needs into clear, well-structured technical specifications and solutions. 

  • Follow SAP development standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and patterns within the SAP landscape. 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development. 

  • Strong expertise in: 

  • ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP 

  • SAP Fiori and UI5 development 

  • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) 

  • ALV reporting 

  • SAP Data Dictionary 

  • Experience with API development and system integration. 

  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance analysis skills. 

  • Experience working with key SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, or similar). 

  • Proven experience partnering with end users on requirement gathering and solution design. 

  • Hands-on experience conducting unit and integration testing. 

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work on-site in an in-house enterprise environment in Cincinnati, OH. 

Preferred 

  • S/4HANA experience. 

  • Experience developing CDS Views. 

  • Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) development, modeling, or dashboards. 

  • Familiarity with Jira or other project management tools. 

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies. 

  • Experience in the construction, engineering, or industrial sector. 

  • Working knowledge of SAP Project Systems (PS), including project structures, WBS, and cost tracking. 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 

Working Conditions 

  • Primarily office-based role in Cincinnati, OH, with standard business hours. 

  • Occasional extended hours may be required to support critical deployments, upgrades, or production issues.
