Title: LOTO Coordinator
Location: De Soto, Kansas
Division: Enerfab Power & Industrial
Reports To: Site Safety Manager
Hourly, Non-Exempt: $38 - $40/hour
Summary:The Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator/Technician is responsible for implementing and managing the organization's lockout/tagout program to ensure the safety of employees when servicing or maintaining equipment. The role involves developing procedures, training employees, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
MUST HAVE Certifications:- OSHA 510 or similar safety certifications.
- LOTO-specific training certification.
- NFPA70(e) training required
Key Responsibilities:Program Management:- Develop, maintain, and update LOTO procedures for all applicable equipment and processes.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147, NFPA70(e) and other relevant safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of LOTO programs and procedures to ensure effectiveness.
Training & Communication: - Train employees and contractors on LOTO policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Serve as the point of contact for LOTO-related questions and issues.
- Communicate program changes and updates to relevant personnel.
Implementation & Oversight:- Oversee the proper application of LOTO procedures during maintenance or servicing activities
- Verify the use of approved locks, tags, and devices.
- Monitor and document compliance with LOTO protocols
Equipment Management:- Maintain an inventory of LOTO devices, locks, and tags.
- Ensure all LOTO equipment is inspected regularly and replaced as needed.
Incident Investigation:- Assist in investigating incidents or near misses related to LOTO.
- Develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; additional safety training or certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR) is a plus.
- 2 - 3 years of prior safety or EHS experience in a construction or industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with diverse personnel.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a safety-oriented role.
