We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our team in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring cost-effective and efficient sourcing practices. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, this role will collaborate across departments to support the organization’s strategic objectives while maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our team in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring cost-effective and efficient sourcing practices. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, this role will collaborate across departments to support the organization’s strategic objectives while maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Procurement to develop and execute purchasing strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee the sourcing, selection, and evaluation of suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and value.
- Collaborate with internal departments and project locations to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and present procurement reports to the Director of Procurement, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to optimize procurement operations.
- Mentor and lead the purchasing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field Preferred. Will accept experience in Procurement in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools, with knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM, or CSCP) is a plus.
- Construction Industry experience is a plus.
