Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Timekeeping Oversight:
- Accurately record and process daily labor hours, equipment usage, and material consumption for over 150 field personnel using SAP.
- Ensure payroll data complies with union agreements, project-specific rules, and company policies.
- Assist in weekly payroll submissions and interface directly with Payroll/HR for issue resolution.
- Collect and verify timesheets from field employees and subcontractors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve timesheet discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Review time entries for accuracy and ensure alignment with daily reports and schedules.
- Generate and distribute labor cost reports and payroll summaries to project leadership.
- Maintain audit-ready records for payroll and compliance reviews.
- Serve as a primary liaison between field personnel, project managers, subcontractors, and the home office regarding timekeeping processes.
- Coordinate closely with Cincinnati-based payroll support and participate in ongoing system/process improvements.
- Complete initial and refresher training with Cincinnati office personnel and shadow the current site timekeeper to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency in local processes.
- Maintain secure, organized records of timekeeping documentation including timesheets, approvals, and corrections.
- Support data archiving and reporting for internal audits or external agency requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in timekeeping, payroll, or administrative roles within a construction or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in SAP is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage payroll for 150+ employees across multiple crews and shifts.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards for data integrity.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.
